This is a reminder that public health in the US eventually and fundamentally defaults to 'individual health' and that is the first mistake.
I hesitate to criticize CDC. It is full of bright, hardworking career scientists, & critique of policy gets conflated with critique of them. That said, I find the latest #COVIDguidance flawed. It sacrifices the vulnerable, offers false reassurance, & ignores inconvenient data.
The @CDCgov doubles down on its flawed, not evidence based Covid recommendations with a new guidance document 1. Leaves fully vaccinated = 2 shots, stay "up to date" 2. Leaves isolation at 5 days w/o rapid tests 3. Pushes "community levels" when real info is "transmission levels"
