@BookofMomma6 @BradenDisguised You Love God by loving your neighbor, not by paying 10% of your income to corrupt church leaders.

As an LDS child learning about Catholic "indulgences" I was absolutely disgusted by the idea of a church official taking advantage of someone for monetary gain, only to realize years later that "tithing" is the exact same thing.

@LatterDayHart @BradenDisguised I don't think the members are acting in bad faith, I simply believe you're being taken advantage of by an institution that doesn't actually care about your eternal happiness, only monetary value. You're free to keep believing in your leaders, I'm free to keep pitying you.

@DiscussingFilm In a daring decision by Disney, the live action Bambi will pull the scene of Bambi's mom being murdered by a hunter, and be replaced by a more modern take of her being involved in a mass shooting event.

@cwillardsmoot Actually disgusting that they chose Maui of all places to put a temple right now 🤮

@Jokeb0i Personally I love it. It's drastically different from the others you mentioned, and I think the more simple style perfectly fits what Disney is going for. Disney is known for focusing on story and music over aesthetics, and I'm excited that they're finally trying something new.

@BradenDisguised The temple is a status symbol. I was taught the #1 rule of the church was to love and support everyone no matter what, and I believe the temple stands for the exact opposite. I'd rather spend my time and money doing good rather than pretending I'm better than everyone else.

Don't declaw your cats Don't declaw your cats Don't declaw your cats Don't declaw your cats IDGAF what your reasoning is. Don't declaw your cats. You're removing whole ass bone from their paws and possibly causing chronic pain.

@BradenDisguised I was very faithful for almost 20 years. I understand how much the temple means to members. There are many members that have, and will, take this as a sign that the LDS Church does not care about God, just profit. That's the reason I left, I cared more about God.

@garlick1062 @BradenDisguised I appreciate their efforts, but announcing a temple is entirely hypocritical when Hawaii is literally STILL ON FIRE. It's a waste of Construction crews, funds, press, and man power that could be redirected to, idk, helping rebuild the lives that burnt down?

@BradenDisguised Many are grateful, many more are enraged. My cousin is serving a mission in Hawaii and has spent the last 2 months doing everything in her power to aid relief efforts, and she's furious about the church's reaction. I'm curious if you've talked to anyone currently in Hawaii?

@BradenDisguised Yes, and it's pitiful . I appreciate the effort they've put in, but spending billions of dollars on buying land right after millions of Hawaiians lost their home feels hypocritical, and proves that all past efforts were just for show.

@thebookofevan My parents certainly aren't lukewarm about the church. In fact, part of the reason 5/5 of their kids left is because they were far too overbearing about it

@blandboyx Last painting I turned into a gallery wasn't titled and I didn't want to just call it "untitled 4" or whatever, so she was unceremoniously donned the name "Barbara"
