The old imperial order treated American sovereignty like a problem to manage. The America-First world order treats it like a line that does not move. Culture, customs, borders, and freedom are not bargaining chips for foreign capitals, global clubs, or leftover colonial habits that still think Washington exists to underwrite their priorities. FAFO is the policy. Undermine the country, and you find out. The federal government’s job is to defend the people, the Constitution, and the national interest, not to fund someone else’s empire or apologize for having one of our own.
The Constitution is a leash on Washington, not a meal ticket for the public. It was written to keep the federal government small enough to defend the country, obey the document, and stay out of the way. It was not written to grow agencies, manufacture dependency, or turn citizenship into a benefits program. It is also not the government’s job to pass ridiculous budgets, spend money it does not have, and then print more of it to cover the difference. That is not generosity. It is a quiet tax on every paycheck, every savings account, and every family trying to get ahead. Inflation does not stop at the water’s edge. It insults citizens, households, and communities here and abroad by making the money in their pockets worth less than it was yesterday. A government that exists to provide for you will eventually exist to manage you. A government that exists to protect the American Dream leaves wealth, prosperity, health, and happiness where they belong: in the hands of the people who earn them.
