You need to stop diddling with your open positions. Let your positions breathe. TP or SL. Be a man. Stop micromanaging.

I did my BSc in OAU and my MSc in Unilag. The plan was to do my PhD in UI to complete the Yorùbáland “Ivy League” trifecta. But the shege I saw in Unilag and the testimonies from UI made me abandon the idea more than a decade after my MSc. My grandpa, a UI alumnus, waited till he passed 10 years ago (I'm sorry sir 😁) Now the provost announces, almost as a badge of honour, that only 12% of UI PhDs finish in the stipulated three years. They treat prolonged suffering as proof of seriousness. It is not. It is vanity dressed as scholarship. This arcane time-wasting is one of the reasons town and gown barely speak in Nigeria. While the country burns with real problems including in power, food systems, logistics, public health, the university is still congratulating itself for making a candidate rewrite Chapter Two for the seventh time because the supervisor’s ego was not sufficiently massaged. The research that finally emerges is often redundant, circular, and already obsolete before the viva. Nobody in industry, government or the market is waiting for it. They stopped waiting years ago. The human cost is also quite humongous. Students spend their thirties in poverty, delayed marriages, stalled careers, and quiet depression while paying fees for a process designed to extract time rather than produce knowledge. Families go into debt. The economy loses years of productive labour from some of its most educated people. Then the same system that delayed them turns around and complains that “Nigerian PhDs are not world-class.” This is why Africa keeps collecting Nobel Prizes in Literature and Peace and almost never in Economics or the Sciences. Literature can wait for a beautiful sentence. Peace can wait for a speech. Economics and the hard sciences do not wait for the wounded pride of a professor who believes a five-year delay proves rigour. The world moves. Our universities do not. A 12% on-time completion rate is not tradition but institutionalised waste. Until we stop treating student attrition as a mark of quality, we will keep producing more frustrated people than useful knowledge. And the town will continue to ignore the gown, because the gown has made itself irrelevant.

@Obindiigbo @UdoSike @K_e_n_n_yy Yes we like being minorities but we would not allow a majority tribe change our history and root just because we are minority. You just can't force people to support your interest overs theres because they are minority tribe.

@UdoSike @Obindiigbo @K_e_n_n_yy And what did choosing those we have something in common with do to us. When they declared Biafra, you guys went about collecting lands belonging to our people as yours, changing the names of every town to igbo names and displacing chiefs of communities. We aint slaves to u too

@UdoSike @Obindiigbo @K_e_n_n_yy Ojukwu fought for his pocket and his ego. Becus they discovered oil in Niger Delta, he wanted south east region to be independent so he can control it all. Ken Saro wiwa asked him what's in it for his people, he refused to give any answer because his motive was evil.

@UdoSike @Obindiigbo @K_e_n_n_yy You're just angry because we are not 'blindsided' by you. If you're the one using us, it's okay. But if we align with others for our own interests, then it's bad? I won't sabotage the interest of my own people becus of Igbos who would place their interest above me.

@UdoSike @K_e_n_n_yy Wrong bro. Niger Deltans sabotaged the war because of what the Biafrans and other igbo majorities did to them. Ken saro wiwa just took back the properties gotten illegally by Igbos in port Harcourt when Biafra nation was declared.

@Kristekris @DreasonGee @MenezorGeremene @djbantiben1 @noosarowiwa Go and read up bro. Stop embarrassing yourself here. Read about how cultures mix and how languages are diluted when a society comes in contact with another society especially over a long period of time. IKWERRE TRIBE IS NOT IGBO. Get that into your skull.
