Always had my doubts when I was told people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder rarely take their own lives, maybe it’s true. I’m absolutely devastated to learn my ex became of the rare ones today. Trying to process it best I can but this is really hard.
I just read Whole Again by Jackson Mackenzie for the second time. A lot of time has past and things have changed since my first reading which made the impact this time round so profound. This book feels like medicine.
I just took an online personality test for a job. At the end it revealed it was checking for traits of Narcissistic Personality!!! Anyone experience this?
It’s difficult to date after the narc because I wanna mention trauma of my past relationship but that’s exactly how my narc got his hooks in. I talked about past trauma and he took notes.

The time it takes to heal from trauma is based on how your mind and body was impacted. That has nothing to do with someone else’s timeline or expectations.
There are still moments that when a person extends kindness I get emotional thinking "I don't deserve this." And then I fucking cry. I know it's an old tape. I know that I am deserving. This is a breakthrough in the making. Keep doing the healing. Does anyone else feel this way?
Healing isn’t as simple as learning to love yourself. It’s going back to the places you stopped loving yourself & remembering why. It’s then holding that part of you close & rescuing them from old pain. The remembering is what makes it hard. The holding is what makes it brave.

Covert narcissists are very careful to make sure only their victims ever see what they really are. This can be horrifying for the victim when the mask comes off and they see the devil underneath relishing in the chance to be their true self for a moment. 😈😳 #NarcissisticAbuse

Be careful how much time you’re spending trying to be understood by people who have contributed to your trauma, yet never to your healing.

You can’t traumatize someone for years and think they will just bounce back. Being traumatized for years is like being poisoned for years. There is cellular damage. You don’t just bounce back.

To the fellow survivors struggling, here is a reason you are important: No one knows your full story. It’s your mind & your body. You telling that story & how you’re working through it gives me hope that I can get through mine. Please, trust your value is beyond your current pain
Never underestimate a cycle breaker. Not only did they face years of generational trauma, but they stood in the face of that trauma and said “This ends with me.” This is brave. This is powerful. This comes at a significant cost. Never underestimate a cycle breaker.
That was the first time I saw & heard the slip. The slip of a #narcissist with no ability to see me as a human being. What I know now compared to what I knew then could fill a canyon. If you are EARLY in & have seen a 'slip'... take every precaution you can. Starting now.
Looking back, there was never a time where things were “right” with me and the nex. On our 1st date I called to confirm with him and he acted so weird. Then he called me back 10 minutes later and said sorry I just woke up from a nap. Now I know he was with the other supply. #NPD
