I don't think Democrats understand that there are millions of people who support Trump who don't even like Trump, but who voted for him because what Democrats stand for is terrifying.

@JayVee36891841 @Nemtastic1 @seattletimes To whatever degree teacher salary *does* cause increased student performance it's marginal at best and banging on about this factor while ignoring larger and more obvious factors isn't helping anyway, no matter how good it makes you feel.

@JayVee36891841 @Nemtastic1 @seattletimes But they're not and you know they're not. If lower salaries for teachers meant worse performance for students then private schools would be home to some of the worst performaning students but that isn't what we see at all. Quite the opposite in fact.

@TheJakeL152 @Nemtastic1 @seattletimes Besides, the only reason you think test scores are "bullshit" is because certain groups you love to champion for are underperforming in them.

@JayVee36891841 @Nemtastic1 @seattletimes What's really needed is multiple longitudinal, intra-district studies showing that teachers in school X got a significant pay increase and follow their Iowa Test scores over the next decade vs the previous one.

@JayVee36891841 @Nemtastic1 @seattletimes And then there's this, from your own reference: "Surprisingly, there is very limited evidence on the relationship between teacher pay levels and student performance, especially from studies that either rely on national level data and/or use proper quasi-experimental methods."
