Nursery-Spirituality Day Nursery have had a lovely day today. We did some lively dancing with the ribbons to celebrate that Jesus was given new life on Easter Sunday. We had a special collective worship where we each dropped a pebble into the water and thought about Jesus.
Nursery-RE Thank you to all of our kind parents who have sent in food for the local food bank. As part of our Lent topic, we have been thinking about how we can show love to others during the time of Lent. Mrs Sherry will drop the food off at the food bank. Many thanks!
Nursery-The Gingerbread Man Today we used a giant story map to retell the traditional tale of The Gingerbread Man. We all joined in to say the words of the gingerbread man ‘run run…’ and placed the characters on the story map including the sneaky fox.
Nursery World Book Day Nursery have had a super time celebrating World Book Day. We loved watching ‘Dear Zoo’ at the theatre yesterday and seeing all the animal characters. Today we read lots of stories including ‘Everybunny Dance’ which we acted out and danced to.
Nursery-Children’s Mental Health Week Today we all dressed in yellow to represent the feeling ‘happy’ as in the story ‘The Colour Monster.’ We look so bright and happy in yellow.
Our number story of the week is ‘Five Little Ducks.’
This week have been learning lots of different ways to count to 10 during maths time.
Nursery-National Compliment Day Today is National Compliment Day. Every day in pupil of the day sessions we give someone compliments to make them feel good about themselves. We say kind and positive things about all of our friends in Nursery. ❤️😊
Nursery party day: Yesterday Nursery had a lovely party day. We went outside to discover Santa’s reindeer on the school playground! The large brown one was called Vixen and the small white one was called Frosty. We were so excited to see them! Merry Christmas to everyone! 🌲 🎅
Nursery Christmas activities: In Nursery we have had fun decorating cakes as snowmen using icing and marshmallows. We were delighted to take our delicious cakes home last night. We have also been busy making reindeer dust to sprinkle on Christmas Eve for Santa’s reindeer!

Nursery-celebrating Diwali This week we have been doing special activities to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. We made Rangoli patterns using coloured sand and pva glue and also with our fingers in a sand tray. We also made brightly coloured pictures.
Nursery-Remembrance Day In Nursery we have been busy making poppies using different paper to mark Remembrance Day. We decorated biscuits with icing to look like poppies. We learned all about why people wear poppies on Remembrance day to help them to think about the soldiers.
In Nursery we have been looking at how we are all different. We used mirrors to look at ourselves and then looked carefully at each other’s faces to see how we are similar or different to each other. George said ‘I like Finn’s nose.’ Freddie said ‘Lily has curls.’
Nursery Rhymes This morning we enjoyed singing nursery rhymes. We have been learning Baa Baa Black Sheep and Humpty Dumpty and today we sang Hickory Dickory Dock and Old Macdonald. We enjoyed doing actions with our hands.
We are special! In Nursery we have been celebrating how special we all are and that we are all different. In circle time we passed the mirror around the circle and looked at our reflections. We drew our own faces, looking closely in the mirror at our eyes, nose, mouth and ears.
During circle time we took it in turns to tell Flashdog our name.
We are exploring with colour.
We have been practising different ways of moving in our PE session today whilst singing the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill. #bbsmpe
