We enjoyed playing the glockenspiels this afternoon as part of our music lesson with Mr Ashbridge.
We had such a lovely day for world book day. We were very excited to be part of our book swap this year. The children took part in lots of different activities to celebrate.
On Monday Hi Impact came to visit us in year 1. We completed a Robot carousel workshop with Tom. The children were engaged and learnt about different ways of programming.
Today we celebrated Candlemas. We invited parents to come and join us in our collective worship.
We have been learning to read and write the time to o'clock and half past. We used the clocks to explore time.
Year 1 - National Compliment Day Today we played pass the compliment. When the music stopped whoever was holding Duke had to give a compliment to one of their friends. @PATHSEdUK
As part of our science topic we are observing changes to a deciduous tree across the 4 seasons.
We have been using concrete representations to compare numbers 11 to 20.
As part of our DT lesson this week we planned, designed and made vegetable soup. The best part was getting to taste the soup! It was delicious and a nice healthy choice. @smbbdandt

We have a fantastic day today at the World Museum in Liverpool! We learned lots of new facts about the different animals that live in the sea! 🐟🦈🐠

Year 1 Songfest Last week, Year 1 had a wonderful time visiting St Helens Town Hall for the Songfest. We sang songs about our world and climate change and how we can look after the environment by recycling and saving energy. Our favourite song is 'Don't Let the Ice Melt Away!'
Dancing achievement! Francesca in class 1S was thrilled to take Daisy Dancer bear home for dancer of the week at her dancing class. Well done Francesca! This is fantastic!
Year 1 Coronation Crowns Look at all Year 1's fabulous crowns that they have created and decorated to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. Well done everyone!
Year 1 Art In Year 1 this week, we have been painting in the style of the Artist Gustav Klimt. We created different shapes and patterns and painted using bright and metallic colours.
Today in maths we have been estimating objects in the classroom that are taller, longer or shorter than a meter. We the worked in pairs investigate if our estimations were correct. 📏
Year 1 have had a lovely day celebrating Easter with an Easter bonnet parade. The children all looked fantastic in their Easter bonnets. Well done! In assembly this morning we were thrilled to meet Twiggle the turtle from our Paths feelings lessons!

Y1: Mrs Sherry's class: Today we had Spirituality Day. We reflected on how we can be thankful and spread kindness to others. We wrote 'kindness' postcards to others in the community and played a game of 'Hopeful Hopscotch' in addition to many other activities.
