#ProjectAfrica Day 150/151: 61.8km/60km I went for a run in the Congo today. It was hard. No one cares. I got it done. That is all that matters. Just inhaled an entire pack of chocolate fingers we found from a French chain supermarket. Sounds excessive but there was only about 4 fingers in there. Joke. Good job they tasted sensational. Wake up tomorrow and the watch starts at 0 again. Wicked game. When I get it back to 60km then maybe I’ll get some more chocolate fingers. I play this game everyday. Sometimes it’s fun but mostly it’s just painful. The game doesn’t end till I’m on a beach in Tunisia sipping a strawberry daiquiri. It’s quite a long game.
My plan for the finish line is as follows: Hit Tunisian beach. Locate nearest bartender. 704 strawberry daiquiris for me and my pals see voo play my good sir. Patiently wait whilst they are made. Take 2 sips of first daiquiri. Major buzz. 1 more sip. Wasted. Get on karaoke mic. Coldplay- Yellow. Pass out. Plan next adventure🫡

We’re at L-Acoustics in North London for the first album playbacks for media and other people from the industry. It’s a fully spatial audio immersive experience, a 65 minute 10 track musical journey, everyone plunged into darkness, listening on an 18.1.12 surround sound system.
30 years ago today my second album under the name Porcupine Tree “Up the Downstair” was released. It was the springboard from which I put the first band version of PT together later that year, so was a real watershed record for me and remains my favourite of the pre-band era.
RIP Ray Stevenson, whose turn as Titus Pullo on ROME is one of the greatest effortlessly charming performances of TV's golden age. A warm guy, by all accounts, and a serious craftsman. He'll be sorely missed.
