@MSPBJnews Vulnerable tasks aren't the same as vulnerable people. Jobs rarely get automated whole; workflows do. The metros that come out ahead will be the ones that teach their managers to redesign that work first.
@HarvardBiz Most feedback training is all pitcher, no catcher. The quickest fix is for the leader to receive feedback first, out loud, in front of the team. Once the boss says 'fair point, here's what I'll change,' everyone's ears open up.
@lennysan Give your weekend tinkerers a stage, not a leash. A standing 20-minute demo slot turns the 'distraction' into the roadmap's scouting party, and everyone else gets their curiosity without paying the time tax.
Building with AI agents is managing a team of one. Set the goal, name the constraints, show an example of "good," check in at the right moments, refuse work that isn't there yet. Two traps: the Stenographer who dictates, the Abdicator who ships whatever comes back.
Fifteen minutes a day. Personal reflection first, then work. The personal concerns are the accelerant: people learn faster on problems they actually care about. 6/7
Most AI rollouts don't stall on willpower. They stall on environment. People change when five conditions show up at the same time. Miss one and they drift. A thread for anyone leading AI adoption 👇 1/7
Most AI tools default to agreeing with you. Using one without breaking that is like hiring a yes-man and calling it a board of advisors. Before you share your next plan, ask: "You're the most skeptical exec in the room. What 5 questions expose the weak spots?"
Weekend family AI game: ask it for 20 wild ideas for Saturday. No filters. Then everyone votes, and the kids' votes count double. Sounds silly. It isn't. Play is where the most creative AI uses show up.
AI leaders signed voluntary safety standards at the White House: internal evaluations, outside audits, board reviews. Do the same at your company on one page: what data AI may use, which decisions need a human, what output gets verified. cbsnews.com/news/ai-super-…
I'm done selling 24-month AI transformations. The frontier labs ship new capability in weeks. The ground you plan on in month one isn't the ground you stand on in month four. You can't work backwards from a fixed point when the point keeps moving. Gantt charts hate this.
@patio11 Buying a lot of inference is the easy part. The scarce skill becomes writing a brief a stranger could execute. Managers have always needed it. Now everyone does.
@random_walker@_gabrielunger The augment-versus-automate choice gets made in the first ten minutes of a rollout, when someone asks 'what do we stop doing?' or 'what could our people now do?' Same tool, very different decade.
@HarvardBiz Relationslipping is what happens when the org chart stays and the real map of who knows what quietly disappears. The fix is boring and powerful: make expertise visible on purpose. Name the go-to person for each thing, out loud, every quarter.
Explain it like I'm 5: a good AI question about money has four parts. The numbers. The time frame. What can't change. The decision you're making. "Help with my budget" gets fluff. Those four get a real answer. Same at work. Fluff in, fluff out.
Before your next hard decision, try two columns. Left: what I know is true. Right: what I'm feeling about it. Paste both into AI and ask: "Where am I confusing these?" What you fear and what's happening are almost never the same. Fear is a great storyteller and a lousy analyst.
