small thing that matters.. get a business email on your own domain and a real business phone line. a gmail and a cell number reads like a side hustle to underwriters.

@brigham_john11 @hxxntrr honestly the trick is knowing what you qualify for before you apply. each app is a hard pull, so applying cold across 4-5 banks can sink approvals fast
lenders dont just look at your score.. they pull 3-6 months of bank statements. if your balance hits zero every week thats a no. keep a cushion in the business account
stop applying for 6 cards in one week.. every hard pull is a flag to the next lender. space your apps out and know what you qualify for before you hit submit.

@hxxntrr fair point that an unused score doesnt do much. just remember lenders also look at time in business and bank statements, so the score is only one piece of what they check
@tmrfunding the planning part gets skipped a lot. before shopping options, know your monthly deposits, time in business and what you'd use the money for. makes the whole conversation way easier
real talk.. before you apply anywhere, make sure your business has its own bank account and the same name, address and phone everywhere. google, 411 listing, secretary of state, all of it. lenders check that stuff and mismatches slow you down for no reason
utilization tip.. your card balance reports on the statement date, not the due date. pay it down a few days before the statement closes and your score can jump
@factoringco @DunBradstreet paying a few days early on net 30 accounts is the cheapest paydex boost there is. just make sure the vendor actually reports to dun & bradstreet first
@reilcapital slow months are exactly when you want the line already open, not applying then. get it set up while revenue looks good and the bank statements are strong
@Ernestoggerardo @rhobusiness good point. easiest way to keep them apart is using the EIN on everything, bank account, vendor accounts, licenses, and never put personal cards on the business file

@KurtisHanni honestly step one is separating business and personal money fully. own account, own card, then track 3 months of cash flow. once you see the numbers the plan kinda writes itself
got denied for a business line of credit? dont just reapply somewhere else.. call and ask exactly why. time in business, revenue, thin business file, too many inquiries. the denial reason is literally your to-do list
new business owners.. your personal credit still matters. most early business cards and lines want a personal guarantee, so lenders look at you first. clean that up before you apply
