It’s always hard to compare eras, particularly for a club that’s come such a long way in a relatively short space of time. But that was the best performance, result and atmosphere for as long as I can remember. Dean Court was rocking. What a time to be alive! #afcb

Watched The Book of Mormon yesterday, for the third time. It won’t be to everyone’s taste (it’s easy to tell by the gasps, who in the audience hasn’t seen it before), but it’s comfortably the best musical I’ve been to. Religious satire at its most cutting and thought-provoking.

I find it so hard to pick a favourite episode of Inside No 9. But A Quiet Night In, from series one, is genius. And since it’s a silent episode, it surely can’t be a coincidence that Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter has a part in it.

I remember spending the last day of my 20s wondering if I’d suddenly feel like an adult when I woke up the next day. Exactly 10 years later, I’m still asking myself the same question! I’m not sure we ever figure it out.

I’ve trained really well these past couple of months for the Great South Run and was looking forward to the race today. But, given the current weather conditions, I can’t say I’m overly disappointed not to be competing. It’s hideous out there.

Every new manager wants to put his stamp on a team, but after Thursday’s aberration I’m pleased Lee Carsley saw sense. England have reached the final in two of the last three tournaments. A revolution isn’t needed, just a few tweaks to a structure that’s been largely successful.

A part of me admires Lee Carsley’s football principles, but every side needs structure. Tonight’s line-up, with no recognised striker and a midfield devoid of balance, was an experiment that basically took the piss. Greece are too canny and organised not to take advantage.

‘Bazball’ has faced some criticism, but no other team could put themselves in a position to win a Test match after conceding 550. The rate at which England score adds so much time that no first innings total is insurmountable. This approach has fundamentally changed Test cricket.
