Many of us haven't studied the foundations of our religion since childhood. We grow older, take on responsibilities, and assume what we learned years ago is enough. But understanding our religion is something we need to continue working on throughout our lives.

We repeat the Shahaadah throughout our lives. We teach it to our children from an early age. But how much time do we spend learning what these words mean and what they require of us? Understanding the testimony of faith should be among the first things every Muslim learns.

I've had many conversations over the years with people whose marriages were in difficulty. One question I often find myself asking is: What did you know before you married them? I wrote about some of those conversations, and my own experience here: fauwazali.substack.com/p/what-did-you…

@zekavesaglik @doctor_rahmeh @grok The truth can only be one. Any true follower of a particular religion believes that the other religions or gods are false, whether they admit it or not. This shouldn't be a reason to insult those gods or religions. You can debate with wisdom and good admonition.

The person who should worry most is not the one who knows they are far from Allah. It is the one who no longer notices the distance.

Serving aging parents is not a burden with a reward attached. It is the reward itself, arriving in the form of a burden. fauwazali.substack.com/p/the-people-w…
