Wake is good ... but travel kills. Just look at the difference between Hawaii's home record all-time and road record ... 20% difference which is right near the top of football with all-time discrepancy (Boise is high for example because of their domination at home and Arkansas State has a massive 40% gap because Jonesboro, Arkansas, is a notoriously tricky, multi-step travel destination for non-regional opponents). Travel has a bigger effect on a team than the casual fan would notice if they are just scoreboard watching. Stanford and Cal will continue to struggle as long as they have to put up 11,000 to 15,000+ air miles per season.

@77WABCradio Look at those poor, suffering students. If only six less people were in their classrooms, they could get the kind of education their parents had.

@Fake_CowboyJoe Sure, the Cowboys play is not going to win any beauty pageants - but let's just celebrate they are in the mix.

It is too bad that AF lost their QB because the Zoomies are very close to being a playoff factor. Nonetheless, ahead of the season I thought they would win the Mountain West this year (I mean, if Calhoun cannot win it now when will he?). We will see where NDSU finishes up today but if the score holds against Nevada I would have OSU behind UNM and NDSU but possibly ahead of Air Force. But not a lot of separation between any of these teams ... I think we have seen enough BSU-AF games to know that if they had played this year it probably would be another close game. Fun stuff.

@SPECTREonX Oregon State is better than Air Force. But yes, I'd have them 4th, behind NDSU/UNM. Yes and no. OOC records are bleak for both, especially against P4 teams. H2H shows more separation, though.

There were 79 total G6 vs P4 games this season, and 70 were played with the G6 team on the road. Even Power Four teams only win out-of-conference road games one-third of the time. Forcing G6 teams to play on the road nearly 100% of the time guarantees poor game quality. Furthermore, data shows that a team's winning percentage drops even lower on their second out-of-conference road game of a season compared to their first. Travel fatigue and cumulative injuries drastically reduce a roster's effectiveness the second time around. Historically, G6 teams win 50% of these matchups at home versus just 10% on the road. If people want better games, stop buying home games and schedule actual home-and-homes to see those win percentages rise.

@TimBrando Bobby Bowden belonged to a legendary era of coaching. Along with LaVell Edwards, Tom Osborne, and Eddie Robinson, they didn't just coach, they embodied their universities. True men of character, faith, and impact whose legacies go far beyond football.

@beauhightowerdn Ischemic stroke is the major cause which is obesity + diabetic issues. So, indeed it is poor diet and lack of exercise which is driving most of it.

@Cocolicquot Right ... It’s a little-known historical fact that the "Bloods" and the "Crips" original dispute was over out-of-network deductibles and a lack of universal Pre-K.
