@LeoJa_ng Check status.claude.com before assuming it's on your end, it'll show any current incidents. If everything's green there, worth checking whether you're hitting a rate limit or it's a regional network issue instead.
@InfoQ Matches what we've seen too: agents didn't fail from weak models, they failed by re-deriving codebase context from scratch every run. Giving them a queryable memory of the codebase to check against instead of guessing cut the babysitting a lot.
@paulhq Matches the docs: PreToolUse only blocks on exit 2, and only stderr from that exit reaches the model. Exit 0 or 1 just logs locally with nothing surfaced to Claude. Worth asserting the exit code itself in hook tests, not just that the log line got written.
@paulhq Same blind spot with npx and uvx. Wildcard allowlists on any package runner amount to full exec, not just pnpm. Pinning to exact package names in the allowlist is the only fix that actually holds.
Error rates sat around 20 percent for GitHub and the API, closer to 40 percent for repo archive and raw file downloads. Downdetector logged 2,745 US reports at the peak. One dev said their whole day was basically gone. #GitHub#Copilot#DevOps
7 hours 47 minutes. That's how long GitHub's outage on August 17 lasted, and Copilot went down right along with core git services. #GitHub#Copilot#DevOps
Kimi K3 lands at 88.3-88.4% across sources, close enough to both leaders that who's actually #1 flips depending on which aggregator you happen to open. #AI#Benchmarks#LLM
Coding model leaderboards don't even agree with each other. Same two models, same named benchmark, same week, different sites, different winners. #AI#Benchmarks#LLM
@paulhq Ran into this too. claude -p without --max-turns will grind until it finds any path to green, including eslint-disable spam. Capping --max-turns and diffing the actual file changes, not just exit code or CI status, catches it before merge.
Same stretch of August: a wiped Supabase production database, a private repo leak through GitHub's Agentic Workflows, and one symlink flaw that hit six different coding assistants at once.
Contributor throughput is throttled to about 2% of production volume, saving a typical team a few hundred dollars a month while Meta gains training rights over their actual codebase.
Contributor pricing drops output tokens from $4.25/M to $0.20/M, over 21x cheaper, and cached input from $0.15/M to $0.002/M, about 75x cheaper. That's the trade for letting Meta use your code.
