5 hours agoOn a backbench suck-up question on the Ukraine trade deal, Trudeau says that the Conservatives are playing into the Kremlin’s hands. Conservatives go crazy. #QP

3 hours agoA month ago my brother asked me why Canada was banning news on social media. I'm not making this up. I explained bill C-18 to him and what it actually meant. He messaged me today completely shocked.

a hour agoWhat do you call an ex-Prime Minister who travels the globe trying to build support for a foreign autocrat engaged in targeted assassinations of Canadian citizens? Honestly not sure. "Traitor" feels like it's too strong, but then the definition fits, doesn't it?

54 minutes ago@scout_on_patrol Molly is working bred and while she never worked due to an injury when she was young, she preferred to be in the barn with the rest of her pack. I often had to go to the barn and collect her at night.

59 minutes agoThe Canadian government has been trying to help keep media afloat for decades, under this or that PM. Not one journalist I know would suck up to a government to continue getting subsidy. Go read a book.

59 minutes agoMore than any other, I hate this lazy, intellectually dishonest, bereft of critical thought line of criticism. Would you lie for the person who signs your paycheque? Go against your own values? They don’t even understand how they’re telling on themselves here. twitter.com/jennife8457447…

3 hours agothere's nothing that so clarifies what a right wing mob dominates this platform as writing something about a progressive politician that isn't an insult.

4 hours agoThis is the best day Trudeau has had in a while. A deal with Google and vindication in the Modi 007 matter.

3 hours agoThere are some great journalists and media orgs in this country. When I bash “the media” I’m talking about the legacy/mainstream/ media and often forget to add the caveat that there are some really talented, honest individuals and outlets. 3 hours agoI just read this in a @DonMartinCTV column and, honest to Christ, our media is such a ridiculous circus act sometimes.
If they say it enough it will come true is their basic operating principle.

6 hours agoW the allegation was first told to us by the PM, media scoffed & Poilievre, rather than be briefed (as his opposition counterparts were) decided to take a pass...so he could scoff & exploit this too I'd call that profoundly disqualifying conduct but maybe that's just me #cdnpoli twitter.com/Alex_Panetta/s…

4 hours agoSo all those people who opined long and loud about the stupidity and futility of the Government of Canada taking on giants like Meta and Google... y'all are going to re-evaluate your fundamental paradigms, right?

Scribulatora @Scribulatora
3 hours agoOr even funnier when the government is able to negotiate a deal that improves the position of Canadian media, sets a positive precedent for other nations and provides some breathing space for the traditional media. You’re welcome. twitter.com/jengerson/stat…

4 hours agoTrudeau certainly came to do battle in today's QP. He won most of the exchanges with Poilievre, not only on the facts, but on the way he argued his points. The carbon round was more of a draw. Liberal caucus would and could take some heart from today, IMO.

David Brown @OrbitStudios
3 hours ago@Scribulatora @1loriking Ding ding ding. A media ecosystem almost entirely driven to oust the sitting government is democracy-killing. Look, I don't want to come across as a Trudeau fanboy, but man, he and this government is looking pretty good right now. They are a light in the dark.

5 hours agoThere were some awful, awful takes - even by the low Canadian pundit standards - when this story first emerged in Canada. Mostly by people who fancy themselves as quite serious thinkers. 5 hours agoPoilievre keeps repeating that housing doubled in the eight years of Trudeau, while ignoring that that it virtually doubled under the nine years of Harper. #QP
