@AngeliqueColPT @HannahStokesRP “And let our wills, hers and mine, be done! For the will within dieth not. Who knoweth the mysteries of the will, with its vigor? Man doth not yield himself to the angels, nor unto death utterly, save only through the weakness of his feeble will.” Our WILL BE DONE!” 2/2

@AngeliqueColPT @HannahStokesRP “Very well,” I begin. “I call upon the flame to summon you. I call upon the raven and the bat and all the dark creatures of nature, upon the charred and blackened clouds that reigned at your beginning. We two are of one blood, one essence, take from mine and give unto her.” 1/2

@AngeliqueColPT @HannahStokesRP Gingerly, I step toward her. “Daddy is here, my love,” I say, and step to her—and then right through her. “Angelique,” I speak loudly enough for her to hear me. “There is a spell, whereby I can give you some of my essence—my life force! Will you consent?”

@AngeliqueColPT @HannahStokesRP She is visible , but not yet manifest. “Must dash, Hannah! My daughter’s here!” I hang up without another word, and approach her. “ At last!” I cry out, “I knew that you would find away! I am so glad you are home, my darling!”

@AngeliqueColPT @HannahStokesRP “Ah, sister mine,” I reply, “my wit arises from a deeper source, my very attitude to life, and is an expression of my wisdom.”

@AngeliqueColPT Reflexively, I grab the ‘phone and bellow into it, “Is execution done on Cawdor.” Of course she’ll get the reference; who else but @HannahStokesRP or a pestiferous bill collector would call me? And who cares a damn about the latter?

@AngeliqueColPT I must go deeper, this spirit has sought me out. I strip away all my mystical protection, lay myself open and am fully receptive to everything, the whole little hickory nut that holds the world and all in it, when…. BRRRRRRIIIIING the ‘phone shrills, shattering my thoughts 1/2

@AngeliqueColPT It’s stirring, I realize, the spirit’s energy has risen, and is more frenetic. Damn it, I should be able to hone in I should be able to find the thin place! I breathe deeply, open myself to the mystical phenomena. I make myself vulnerable.

@AngeliqueColPT The sense of a powerful presence…a defiant spirit, so distant, yet so close…the veils between the dead and the living, the past and the present can be thin as tissue-paper…but I cannot find where the breach lies…..

@AngeliqueColPT The scent of the omelette leads me to fall to. It is one of my better culinary inspirations, and I relish it. As I finish, though, I am aware that the unknown, unseen presence is real. Very real indeed.

@AngeliqueColPT I add some pastrami, some Swiss cheese (these Mainers would use cheddar on ice-cream, so crude they are!), flip the concoction, brown it slightky, and dish up. I suspect I will need my strength today!

@AngeliqueColPT I break a few eggs, and begin making a large omelette in my small but cozy kitchen. The coffee is percolating, and the delicious thrill of an obscure occult presence stirs my sleep-wreathed brain into full wakefulness. Last night’s cognac flees my soul, and I am a Mage again.

I laugh hoarsely, as the flesh reddens in the bubbling water, sloughing away from the bone. A little more….just a little more…it is ready!

She is also rabid as a stoat for love. She complains of her Ricky, his drums and drinking. We resume. We awake in the morning, two strangers who have shared carnal joy. The New Year has dawned, and our idyll ends.

The flame-haired lady at the table agley from me is no lady, and she is lonely. I am not love’s young dream, but she walks out with me. In her shabby digs, we make the beast with two backs, to mutual enjoyment. 4/5

I will not allow Alexis to be sacrificed. But I will bring her closer to me, protect her, and—who knows—guide her along the dark path. But I shall be a father to her, unless the need arise. 3/5

I have feasted, I have drunk of the blood of the grape, and now, I ponder the New Year. Of course, the portrait is only a surety.
