David's mind raced as he bolted from Collinwood. He felt like a cornered prey animal, like the bird he had hunted with Burke. He would never do that again. David's eyes stung…was he crying? He paused by a tree, to wipe them with the back of his left hand. 1/6

@LauraCollinsRP @JasonMc00245084 Laura’s admittance pushed David over the edge. He didn’t want to hear anymore...he couldn’t! Once he found his voice, it was firm. “NO!!” The eruption seemed to bring the adults to their senses, but it was much too late. David had already run out the door. He did not look back.

@JosetteduPresDS Josette's voice was already beginning to fade. Like the static on a television channel (sometimes, he watched in Carolyn's room). When she left, he would be the one stuck in the reality of this situation...whatever it was. "Help," he whispered back. 3/3

@JosetteduPresDS At times, he could almost forget that Josette wasn't alive. She was radiant; full of more emotion than any of the adults in his life. Yet there was a real loneliness about her...it bound David to her, making him feel as if she could understand him (and vice versa). 2/3
