Perhaps local sport clubs and governing bodies could club together to improve the space and provide much needed sports provision for the benefit of the future generation of common users. 3/3

As we now look to drop our interest in the project we wanted to say Thank You to those supporters who backed the project. We would also ask those same campaigners who objected will put as much effort into ensuring that the space doesn't fall even further into disrepair. 2/3

UPDATE: It is disappointing to report that the final decision by the Planning Inspectorate is to refuse our application to unlock the sporting opportunities for the young & vibrant community at the Tooting Triangle. 1/3

@opentooting ‘Original Tweet by author has been deleted’ that’s what it says at the top of the image. Were you were the original author? We were replying to you. It’s why we asked for an email, so there is a record of the asked/answered questions. We can have a proper conversation then 👍

@opentooting here is the original thread with our reply? Sorry if you missed it. We never received a DM or email from you. Also why did you delete the original tweet? Is it because we gave you a satisfactory and reasonable response? 🧐 Look forward to chatting in New Year

It’s all been quite quiet as we waited for the Planning Inspectorate to make their decision. We are now going to a public inquiry, be great to put across our side and listen to some of the concerns from objectors that haven’t been answered already through this process.

@opentooting @TootingCommon Don’t want to lose the aspiration yet. This is a fantastic chance to provide so much more for local user groups on an underused and inadequate space. John, please provide your email address in the DM will send some info. Be great to understand your learnings from Fishponds too.

@JonIrwinLD @TootingCommon We aren’t interested in making this political or argue around which party has done what. We just want to provide better service, facilities and access at the Tooting Triangle site.

Flooding is an annual event on Tooting Triangle effecting the use of the whole space by the community. Our plans include improvements to the drainage system across the site to help stop this happening regularly tootingtriangle.com/development/20… #balham #tooting #friendsoftootingcommon
