@simonalborn That’s the key thing to remember. None of us is immune from bad luck and poor decision making. Crime is crime, and we have to protect people, but thinking you could never be the one in handcuffs is a mistake.

Then, there is this actual acknowledgement from a private insurer that #mecfs could cause them to "lose millions" and that it should be treated as "neurosis with a new banner."
First, there is the argument that disability benefits can make patients worse by fostering a "culture of dependency." Under a veneer of science, denying disabled #pwme the benefits that could prevent poverty, homelessness, death is not only cheap, it's doctor-recommended.
We should be judged on how we treat the most vulnerable in our society. At the moment we, the disabled, are being treated like our disabilities are wrong and something we should be ashamed of. This must change! The government must stop treating us like we are worthless!
