Yesterday Rakeem Miles, 24, was sentenced to 8 years in prison with a 13-year extended licence period for manslaughter. Samuel Winter lost his life in an unprovoked attack at a London Underground station last summer.

It was a huge honour to recognise colleagues and public today, at @TheBMA House in London, who have done exceptional work. Live-saving interventions, bringing violent offenders to justice, and an officer who was praised by @policeconduct for how they dealt with a male in crisis.
