This is pretty close to my position: I think the AI labs are irrationally optimistic about their timelines AND I think they're totally, scandalously unprepared for what would happen if they DID succeed. And I don't know of any solutions other than telling them to slow down.

Joyfully deleting the @united app. Not because they stranded us on the tarmac on both sides of a turbulent SF/Chicago flight, causing me to have to sprint, exhausted, from ORD concourse B to concourse E and leave my checked bag in the Windy City But because the app sucks.
