This letter is full of hatred and division. After suffering a decade in detention, they say resettlement in Australia is not an option for us. With a lot of restrictions and difficulties we're trying to build a life. I'd like to stay with people I love. Day 18

The first step to healing comes from your trauma being validated through acknowledgement. If this doesn’t happen trauma develops whole new dimensions & becomes magnified. The lack of trauma validation is therefore often more impactful than the trauma itself

A sad reflection on my profession (psychology) that despite Aboriginal ppl having the highest rates of child suicide in the world; incarceration; child removal; theres no Indigenous curriculum embedded within psych training. We just get a 'side order' of cultural awareness

Ok. Shit just got real. This morning Sydney 5.30am refugees at Villawood were woken with lights in faces told to pack. Taken to airport. Not told where where going. Picked up Melb refugees. Flown to Perth. WA Premier not advised. Now at Northam refugee centre. Phones taken. 🤬
