How did you learn to love the outdoors? For me it started with camping and backpacking trips my dad took us on-Memories of nervousness, due to lack of preparedness, and the thrill of adventure I think what really locked me in was reading Edward Abbey’s - Desert solitaire. Gold

Our societies have become noisier. Fans, washing machines, car engines, road noise, dogs barking, airplanes, dishwashers, televisions etc A study was done that showed for every 10 decibels of noise an area has the anti anxiety meds go up 28% Another reason to get out in nature.

Out there getting the miles in. There were tons of these caterpillars out as well. They probably get a few miles in a day at that speed also.

Feel like time flies compared to when you were a kid? It’s the natural lack of newness. Doing new things, learning, having new experiences, exploring etc. Doing new things keeps us in the present which…naturally slows down time. For time to slow down, be in the present more!

Remember helicopter 🚁 parenting that began in the 90’s? Studies showed 80% increased depression in the generation after this trend began. Not allowing kids to go out and explore and do adventures, caused them to not build coping skills and self reliance. Adventures matter!!

It’s easy to survive in modern society without being challenged. But never experiencing what it is like to live on the edge, to push yourself out of your comfort zone… It’s like skipping the very chapter that makes life worth living. Where true growth happens.
