The Kennedy Memorial is made of irreplaceable marble that was gifted by Italy. Matisse tapestries found throughout were gifted from France. The massive starburst chandelier in the Opera Hall, and lights along walkways, were a gift from Sweden. The record-breaking stage curtains were a gift from Japan. They had to build special looms to weave them because of how big they are. The grounds are beautiful with displays of art. This is what Trump is destroying.

When I'm tired of seeing AI images that make me feel nothing, I look at how Michelangelo made the right hand of David out of marble.

@holy_schnitt I know a church that has said symbol in the tile work in the ceiling. It was built in the 19th century before the Nazis co-opted the symbol. Harmless, not loaded. Not a thing.

Have to say that I agree with MAGA Mom. Some of the comments I've seen from so called "progressives" on this have been very gross. First, Texas has a diverse voting population. Some people voted for Republicans, some voted for Democrats. I'm sure many voted third party and many didn't vote at all. We know nothing about the voting patterns of the people affected. People are simply inferring political views and values based on geography, which is wrong. Second, many of the people affected are children, some now even dead. Children don't have political views and are barred from the political process. Thus, thus did not "deserve this." Third, regardless of someone's voting behavior, they did not deserve to lose their homes and even loved ones. I frankly wouldn't care if someone voted Republican. Just as I don't think anyone deserves to die or be injured in a mass shooting, no one deserves to drown or see their home washed away in a flood. I'm progressive because I have deep sympathy for the marginalized, poor, and working-classes. This does not change if that person happens to "vote the wrong way." Or if they don't share my political views. The stories coming out of Texas are heartbreaking. I've been frankly shocked to see the callousness of some people who have "be kind" in their bio say rather cruel things about the Texan victims. Pointing the finger and saying "well you've done some horrible" stuff seems pretty pointless. People should be rallying to help those affected by the Texan floods, not trying to count points.

I don't know how else to say it for you. You seem to think the final hiring decision is based on race. It's not. The most qualified candidate is hired. And it's ok when those hires are diverse. Diverse candidates can and are hired because they are more qualified.

@mcuban @EndWokeness That goes back to the question I have been posing: how do we reconcile an increased emphasis on race during the hiring process with the CRA?

@bendreyfuss This is honestly very reasonable. A seven rib PRIME roast. You’d pay twice this much if they cut it into steaks and sold it to you that way.
