#DEFCON32: Done! I left with new knowledge, sore feet, and a lighter wallet, but my main takeaway was just a reminder to keep exploring, experimenting, and failing. It’s not only how we truly learn, but also how we create new things. Thanks #DEFCON, it’s been fun!
@Emirage6 The answer is no, but I’m guessing it’s still on the exam so you learn how to not use it. If it was off by default, it probably wouldn’t be covered
@todaywasawesome@ibuildthecloud Yup, I’ve had the same thoughts, and bookmarked the @flydotio LiteFS project as the best potential solution. I haven’t found time to experiment with it yet, but it looks magical
@IPvSean@RedHat Absolutely! However, I will say giving a reasonable cut-off date instead of abruptly pulling out the rug would have also gone a long way in showing good faith
@geerlingguy@RedHat Well, I guess it explains—but certainly doesn’t justify—the knee jerk reaction. It’s sad because I imagine giving ample notice would have had still the same outcome for the “bad faith actors” while also better respecting the larger community.
@todaywasawesome Completely agree. The bigger issue for me though is only supporting SQLite and not being designed for any kind of redundancy or scaling.
@TechnoTimLive DHCP reservations should exist outside of your DHCP ranges. Many DHCP servers enforce that when creating reservations. Static IPs should also. One case for creating reservations for hosts with static IPs, is it’s more convenient when reinstalling (especially Raspberry Pis)
@Ell_o_Punk I think you just need to call BookInput when more == 'yes'. Right now, if more is yes, no action is taken. I'd probably put the if/else within the while loop and break if more == 'no'.
