@ABsneurosurgeon Look at how the inside WRs ran mesh here. Don’t think that’s the way it was drawn up 🤣

What is the difference between the two urls? one has an @ and one doesn't. But also the first downloads version 15 of postgres from GitHub and the second one resolves to v15 dot zip domain which can also downloads a zip file that sure doesn't have postgres in it. You see, URLs with @ in them are split into two parts, anything before @ is user info and anything after it is the host name, however this rule is broken if what comes before @ are forward slashes. The second URL includes a character encoded like forward slash but isn't really the real forward slash, which URL parsers ignores making anything before the @ as user info and treating whatever comes after it as the real hostname. While this can happen on any domain, the zip domains makes it more likely to happen. When you click on a link that ends in zip especially if it looks like from GitHub you won't think twice about it. @AskTSA Can you present a recently expired passport (<1 year expired) as identification at TSA checkpoints?

@firt @othermaciej @dannymoerkerke @jensimmons So generally speaking you are expected to pass the promise returned by showNotification into the push event’s waitUntil.

@firt @othermaciej @dannymoerkerke @jensimmons It checks to see if you have called ServiceWorkerRegistration.showNotification by the time the push event completes. The push event completes when all the promises passed to its waitUntil settle.

Bay Area infrastructure is absolutely terrible. Whether it’s forest fires, thunderstorms/rain, or excessive heat, electric power and internet fails almost religiously. Or is it just Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Los Altos areas? Bewildering to see how poorly it’s set up and managed.

Large, long lived distributed systems often *cannot* be restarted. Change over time has created hidden, circular dependencies. The system cannot bootstrap, because it never has. So there is a very real chance that when @twitter hits its next outage, it fails “permanently”.

@mattie “If you find say a 50% improvement in the code it’s far more likely that the code was horrible in the first place and you just made it not suck than it is that you’re a genius and you came up with a super-clever way to solve the problem twice as fast.” levelup.gitconnected.com/dos-and-don-ts…

Went to the local ⁦@Safeway⁩ yesterday since online orders got cancelled. Tough time to be a checkout clerk or bagger.

@TurkishAirlines we’ve been holding here on the runway for an hour with almost no updates from the crew. Thank you for making me miss my connection and screwing me out of the time I was going to spend with my family over New Year’s. TK1979

@TurkishAirlines you wait for your transit passengers, and end up missing your landing slot at LHR. Then you go and blame the congestion at Heathrow for your 90 min delay. Appalling. TK1979.

Shipping the Hermes debugger in early 2018 was a joint project between @ridiculous_fish, @bennham, @Hypuk and me. It feels great to know that people clapped during the presentation when they heard what we achieved 💞

@gtbono @HermesEngine With Hermes the debugger now runs in-process and connects directly to Chrome Debugging Tools: youtu.be/zEjqDWqeDdg?t=… That means you can send synchronous calls such as `alert(1)` and they'll be displayed on the device!
