In Maths this week we in Year one are exploring direction. The children were able to identify when they would use turns. “When I go to the park I make a quarter turn at the end of the street” @WhiteRoseMaths
As part of our BIG BANG 💥 Mrs Elmes had arranged for her friends Pete and Margaret to come help with the schools growing garden. What a fabulous job they did with the help of the children. We learnt the different between a plant and weed 🌱 (We found potatoes too) @VegPowerUK
BIG BANG 💥 KS1 including Reception participated in sketching pictures of plants found in and around our school. We looked closely at the details “I can see tiny hairs” “Oh look there’s lines on the stem” @caythorpeclass2

In English, Year 1 have been identifying features of non-fiction texts. They have also explored the difference between opinions and facts. This week we will be writing our own information about farm animals, which will be made into a class book. 📖 🐷 🐮 🐑
