Mask bans are part of a broader strategy of state repression rooted in white supremacy. These bans criminalize basic safety measures for protest, disproportionately targeting marginalized communities, in a rush to further criminalize & silence movement for Palestinian liberation.
Nassau County, NY just passed a mask ban and now residents say they are going to take pictures of anyone wearing a mask and send them to police. This is why we need to stop any kind of mask ban legislation. They empower vigilantes to harass and surveil people wearing masks.
When a majority of voters are demanding a ceasefire & an end to the genocide, it is completely out of touch & disgraceful for the DNC to deny Palestinian Americans a voice at the convention. Michelle Obama implored us all to do something. I’m imploring our party to do better.
