If a white person born in Australia can be Australian without Aboriginal ancestry, and a white person born in America can be American without Native American ancestry, why can't a Black person born in England be English without Anglo-Saxon ancestry?

Trump’s diesel deal with Putin makes no sense (it’s also immoral since it will fund the ailing Kremlin war machine). The US has no need of Russian diesel. It already refines more than enough for domestic demand — with 1.5m b/d for export. Russia has no diesel to export. Ukrainian drones have taken out a third of Russian refining capacity, turning Russia into a net importer of diesel (from India). The volumes involved are derisory. The initial Russian offer = 2.2m barrels. The US consumes 3.5m b/d. The price of diesel at the US pump is between $6/6.50. That won’t change before the midterms. The deal does nothing to help Trump in these elections. But it bolsters Putin and undermines Ukraine.

I think I've found the perfect analogy to sum up the support for Nigel Farage and Reform UK. You've been feeling unwell for years and you've been treated by 3 different doctors. Our political system is in the toilet. Print media may be dead, but today its podcasts, substacks etc, which all need daily content. We are so obsessed with Westminster gossip, and not on longterm policy. Content is king, drama, soap opera. We need change

He’s not even a spoiled rich boy or a greedy fat man—he’s more like a bloated white slug, a privileged Jabba the Hutt. He breaks all the rules of basic decency associated with the Marquess of Queensberry—he hits below the belt, something a gentleman would never do. He especially likes to strike the vulnerable or voiceless—and kicks them when they are down. His flaws are hard to miss, and the fact that at least one-third of Americans fail to notice them is shocking to the British. It is impossible to read any of his tweets or hear him speak even a couple of sentences without peering into an abyss.
