@grepmoney @Hawaii_EMA Agreed. I was hyperventilating until I went to the website (that map is a bit better). I initially misread this☝🏻map & went "OMG we're F-CKED." When I saw the better map: "Ah ok. Not f-cked. Yet." OFC forecasts can change rapidly. I'm in a safe zone now but it's no guarantee🤷🏻‍♀️

@ThisStoryStore But I will say: if you block disabled parking spots just because it makes your parking convenient? You're a serious jerk. I don't need those spaces but know people who do. Getting a person in a wheelchair/mobility device into a car SAFELY, or at all, does requires all that room!

@ThisStoryStore Some of these are bad. Others? I dunno. Folks @ any age can be disabled & not always visibly. I'm disabled, use intended seats as needed & get dirty looks when ppl assume I'm lazy. I carry a fold-up cane. I need it! I've also taken it out just to show ppl who were harassing me🤷🏻‍♀️

@thevirgomaryy As a kid: YES all the time. I'd break down thinking about this exact scenario. As an adult I realized I did better one-on-one & pursued individuals instead of a "group" to hang out with. It helped a lot. (BTW: I'm not saying a groups of friends are bad! It's just not for me)

Truer words were never spoken! I know it's nearly impossible if you're a middle aged woman. If they'll see you they won't take your insurance. If they take your insurance they only see kids. If they'll see you & accept your insurance it'll be something. There's ALWAYS something.

I was diagnosed w/ADHD at 24 & I remember briefly thinking I MIGHT have more going on... I'd already lost count of the times I was called weird. Now I'm looking for clinics that'll screen adult women for autism🤷🏻‍♀️

@Simspice1 @mightbeautistic I'm Schizoaffective: high functioning/on meds, but still have some symptoms e.g., feeling like I'm being watched I KNOW I'm not being observed when I'm alone! The FEELING persists. This symptom+hating being watched makes relaxing an effortless task! 10/10, would recommend (/s)

@mightbeautistic Autistic Twitter is one of the few places I feel understood & validated. I can't count the times folks here have shared their experiences and, shocked, I said: "I thought I was the only one." For decades I REALLY thought I was the only one. But I'm not! And it's wonderful.

@Mushrumination @NickAnderegg I love Portland. I spent summers there as a kid & later lived there from 00-08. Although I miss those days (& my $750/mo 2BR apt) I'd never move back. Now I'm back home in Hawaii: the most physically isolated place on the planet! Not the best place to be when things fall apart🤷🏻‍♀️
