Governance architect. 20 yrs software engineering. Gov't = badly designed software. Documenting the fix. We need good design, not strongmen. 🏛️statecraftblueprint.org UTJoined November 2025
6/ I've studied this for years. Today I launched gov.science: governance studied the way we study weather, oceans and physics, so we can improve it.
If you'd like a more perfect Union, share this with someone who'd appreciate a new way of looking at it.
5/ One thing hasn't changed since 1789:
Congress still designs its own rules, the same way it designs its own mandates and the structures to carry them out.
1/ Every few years we replace the people running our government.
New faces and the same old promises go in. Shutdowns and laws that fail to solve problems come out.
That's not what the Constitution promised We the People. 🧵
Both are difficult, for sure.
One of them is dramatically harder than the other, and has been tried over and over for decades.
Which do you think is the better approach?
B. Persuade enough members of Congress to change the rules of procedure to restore the checks and balances allowing Congress to pass legislation and check executive power.
Why do we expect politicians to be better people than the rest of us?
We complain that politicians are greedy and corrupt, selfish, dishonest, cowardly, partisan, etc.
Okay.
But, isn’t that just what human beings are like? They act in their own rational self interest.
Now what?
We all know that our government is not functioning well, but how bad is it? Find out in chapter 2 of "Governance Science, In Principle"

The reason government programs are so inefficient is that, unlike a commercial company, the feedback loop for improvement is broken, because they have a state-mandated monopoly and can’t go out of business if customers are unhappy.
No matter how bad the service is at your DMV
Your vote doesn't matter.
Not because of the math. Because the people you elect aren't free to represent you.
Here's what's happening and how we can fix it.

The US has been at war with Iran for 67 days.
The law: Congress must authorize after 60.
Democrats voted to check the president: 6 times. Republicans blocked it: 6 times.
Deadline passed. Congress left town.
The thing we all learned about in school. The thing that's supposed to make America different.
It doesn't work. Here's why — and why your favorite reform won't fix it.
