As long as synods are prioritizing the establishment and candidates who represent the establishment, the church will not grow or thrive. Shame on them for passing over and jerking around one of the most promising candidates I have ever met.

Me to the kids during the children’s message: what’s my favorite part of church? Kids: seeing us! Me: you’re right, do you know why? Kids: because you love us! 😭 1.5 years into ordained ministry and I’ve already peaked. Literally nothing else to accomplish.
