I’ve come to understand that transactional people will never understand doing something unconditionally for someone you love. It’s why she doesn’t understand why I’d do anything for a different sibling, literally.
It’s also why she doesn’t understand why many of my siblings can be struggling down in the pits but will never ask her for help.
I’ll never forget when the coronary vasospasms I suffer from caused me to have a heart attack and they insisted I come to the US for treatment after I was discharged from hospital but I needed an escort coz I was wheelchair bound.
The rest of the family pitched in and bought an air ticket for my younger sister to accompany me. Meanwhile, my other older sibling left Scotland with a 3 month old child to come stay with my nieces together with @EarthaKittyy while we were away.
The first night I arrived here, we had a disagreement about something stupid she said & she said ‘You should be grateful we bought you a ticket to come to the US for proper treatment.’ First night. I was so sick and my blood pressures were so low I would fall over coz dizziness.
I’ve never forgotten. I refunded her the share she gave towards the ticket ($300) and I’ve never accepted anything from her again. Anyway, now, every time I’m tempted to remind someone what I’ve done for them, I remember how horrible I felt and I stop.
Tenda mema nenda zako is my anthem nowadays. Oh, and after being admitted, poked, prodded and scanned within an inch of my life, they found I already had the correct diagnosis and didn’t even change my medication. 😒
Anyway, if you or a loved one ever need a cardiologist, see Dr. Muriithi Nyamu at Dr. Nelson Awori Building hapo next to Nairobi Hospital. He quite literally saved my life and no, I’m not being hyperbolic. (This is not an ad, just a reflection).
@HoneyandRum_ Omg I know you don’t knew me and this is very random but same, he did actually take care of me as his patient and save my life, I’m very grateful for him. He’s a good guy and an even better cardiologists. I second your statement.
@heathervaler1a Sis, he started treating me and three days later I was out of the ICU. Meanwhile the other Cardiologist was busy telling my relatives oh it’s just heartburn. 😫
@HoneyandRum_ Lol I also met him in the cardiology unit basically almost getting into the icu😭😭💀. He’s great.
@heathervaler1a I hope you’re doing well now 🙏🏾
