Overestimation in early growth patterns is -beside travel restrictions- the second thing on a rinse and repeat cycle - yes, presumably XBB.1.5 will eventually take over from the other omicron sub-variants, but not within a few days, and will not result in a January like last year

Post viral bacterial pneumonia is very uncommon with non-hospitalized Covid. Have seen multiple patients showing up with positive Covid tests approximately two weeks ago, worsening and upon re-presentation, found to have severe lobar pneumonia. 1/

@SafeSchoolsSask The easiest way to access Paxlovid is to call a pharmacy that prescribes it. They will do an assessment over the phone to determine eligibility, and can write the prescription without needing an NP or MD involved. saskatchewan.ca/government/hea…

For SK MDs out there: I spend an inordinate amount of time navigating between electronic record systems (logging in / out, swapping between programs). Not reviewing info, but the actual navigating diff programs. What’s everybody’s experience? @SMA_docs @DennisKendel @hinz_tamara

While interviewing fellowship applicants, I learned that there’s a residency program that provides all of their incoming residents w/ therapists. You can opt out of therapy, but the default is that you’ll opt in. #MedTwitter, is this common? If not, it seems like it should be.

It is tempting to join a highly polarized side and be against or for everything. But the reality this Fall is it will be more nuanced. The answer will be balancing the need for “normalcy” vs covid. The solution won’t be black or white, but a shade of grey. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/editor…
