When I look at Senator Edwin Sifuna, I see a minimalist. He has said repeatedly that he does not need a 12-bedroom house. For him, a home that shelters him and gives each of his children a comfortable room of their own is enough. His wardrobe tells the same story and that is something he has said it. According to him, a khaki trousers, a polo T-shirt and a simple pair of shoes is all he needs. In his podcast interviews he calls himself a simple man, and he was once spotted on Nairobi's streets buying shoes from hawkers, searching for something comfortable enough to wear during the Sufuria maandamano. Few politicians walk the talk so literally. Anyone who has sat in a university lecture hall or does research will recognise the idea that explains why this matters. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Maslow argued that human beings climb a ladder of five needs, and that the way a person handles each rung reveals their character. At the base are the physiological needs. That is food, water, shelter and rest. Sifuna meets these without fuss. A house that is comfortable for his children, and shoes that are good enough to walk in, are all he asks for. He treats these needs as things to satisfy, not things to show off. Next come the safety needs. Security, stability and protection. Many leaders turn this rung into a fortress of mansions and bodyguards. Sifuna, by contrast, has marched in the streets alongside ordinary citizens, showing that his sense of security comes from principle, not walls. The third rung is love and belonging. His choice of a modest home built around his children shows where his attachments lie. His street-level presence among hawkers and protesters shows that he wants to belong to the people, not hover above them. The fourth ond, esteem, is where most politicians stumble, because it is about status and recognition. Luxury cars and grand estates are the usual trophies. Sifuna's polo shirt and khaki trousers suggest that his self-worth does not depend on the opinion of onlookers. At the top sits self-actualisation. Becoming the fullest version of oneself and serving a purpose bigger than oneself. A leader who has settled the lower rungs without greed is free to climb here, and Sifuna is now reaching for the presidency. That is what makes his story compelling. A man who has already learned to cut his coat according to his cloth is less likely to treat public office as a vehicle for personal enrichment. I kept my passes from KQ flights 202 and 203 to and fro Mumbai on 15/16 October 2025. I couldn’t tell you what the toughest part of the day was, receiving the news in the morning or taking that flight to Mumbai. But I digress. I want to say Ahsante sana to some key people who made everything possible in very difficult circumstances. 1. The Indian High Commission in Nairobi and the Indian Government. I don’t know how many rules of international travel were bent to make that flight happen. Ahsante sana. 2. @KenyaAirways management and the flight crew led by Capt. Saviemaria Ondego. Absolute class. Bwana on the way back we thought our tears had dried then she hit us with that call change to RAO001 when we entered our airspace. Wacha tu. God bless. 3. The regular passengers on those two flights. Many were bumped off. Heavy seat changes to accommodate the delegation. Long delays especially on flight 202. Many had no idea what was happening until we were airbone and the captain made the announcement. Apologies for the inconveniences on that day, but you were very gracious. God bless. 4. The @kdfinfo . Bwana for the honor extended to Baba, we his people will forever be grateful. Salute🫡

Truth be told @WilliamsRuto has really lowered the presidential standard and office. You can't have a head of state who is always ranting and frothing in public, insulting and abusing opponents as brainless fools, regardless. It is a desperate moral low we have sunk. He Must Go.

When Sifuna was touring Homa Bay, I did not go because, honestly, I smelled danger from a distance! One of the ladies he appointed yesterday to the Linda Mwananchi communication secretariat was there with him, facing goons armed with pangas. Some of these ladies from the Kikuyu community were right there when things got dangerous, standing with Sifuna while others could only watch from a distance. Later, Hon. Majimbo Kalasinga narrated to me the terrifying ordeal one lady from Mt Kenya went through. According to his account, she was surrounded by goons with pangas who wanted to kill her. Her driver had already been slashed and was lying on the ground going to sayuni. The lady, who has never publicly narrated the full ordeal, reportedly survived after showing the attackers photographs she had taken with the late Raila Odinga in 2022. Even then, one of the goons allegedly demanded close to KSh 200,000, threatening that she would suffer the same fate as her driver. Imagine going through such an experience simply because you chose to stand with a political movement! Now let me tell you where some of us from Sifuna's own community were during that Homa Bay tour. I was comfortably seated in my house in Trans nzoia,enjoying ugali and a thigh of ingokho. Some of us were not even enjoying our meals properly because we were busy checking whether the doors were firmly locked, just in case one of those goons from Homa Bay decided to run all the way to Bungoma with a panga! Let these ladies be! They have sacrificed for Sifuna and Linda Mwananchi. Disclaimer: I'm not a coward if Sifuna decides to go back to Homabay I will go.

Is he done ranting about the 24K I pay for his housing scam because kuna hii 43k I pay every month for his SHA scam we also need to discuss.
