When you walk into a store, do they ask you if you need help? Do they follow you around the store? The answer to these questions can explain whether or not you have white privilege.

This is a beautiful story of two young people dealing with depression. I think mental health should be discussed more often than it is. This is a great book to inspire discussion.

I heard this quote on the TV show Sweet Magnolias… “The grass is always greener where you water it.” I guess that means we should stop looking elsewhere and take care of wherever we are.

In the spirit of "never forget," I highly recommend this book. It is short but sweet. It's an example of surviving atrocities and discovering happiness is a choice. goodreads.com/.../53239311-t…...

The best advice I've heard lately… Tell your mother you love her. If not your mom, tell the person important to you.

Normalize not bringing up relatable story about yourself when someone is telling you something about themselves, and just listen. It’s not about me. It’s about you. And how wonderfully beautiful it is to be truly present.

Just a quick reminder. Whatever difficulty you might be facing, the best way through is taking one step at a time. Any small step that is manageable.

I recently read the novel The Mountains Sing by Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai. The family at the center of the story goes through turmoil again and again. The teenage daughter wishes she could just have a normal day. Here’s to taking a moment to be grateful for an average day.
