@elonmusk I’m sure attempting to overthrow the duly elected government of the United States had ZERO to do with the removal.

@Imackin One last thing too. A lot of time the music industry thinks that the consumer *should* pay more rather than working on the what or the why they are willing to pay more. How many times have we heard ‘it’s the cost of a starbucks drink.’ Well, yeah, but they value that more.

@Imackin Yeah, but you know how it is. People pay for the hits. Not catalog. Also, is there any difference between Spot/Apple/Amazon/Deezer/Tidal/Nap services? Outside of a couple podcast exclusives from Spot, they’re all the same.

@Imackin For example: you want to watch Ted Lasso, you have no choice but to subscribe to AppleTV. Without evidence, it does seem like consumers have little loyalty to streaming services and move between depending on the show they must watch this month. It's not additive.

@Imackin I get the point. But for years and years and years the biggest issue we have seen is getting people to pay *anything*. I just don't believe the answer is 'consumers need to pay more for access.' We need to give consumers something special they can't get anywhere else.

Everyone talks about how people become serial entrepreneurs because they have a "founder mentality" and only want to do that. That's *mostly* true. But there's another reason no one ever talks about: it's really hard for founders to find a job! Here's a short 🧵 on why:

@jstrauss 100% agree. One thing though: most PM hiring managers are looking for candidates who have similar experience to the gig they look to fill. While there's no doubt that PM founders can do the gig, hirers probably shy towards candidates already doing similar gigs.

Every Jackie Robinson Day is special. His sacrifices blessed me & countless others with the opportunity to play the game we all love today. But he stood for so much more. This year we can't stop at thanking Jackie for paving the way. 🎥@pamsson @MissEljon @MissCirillo @BV_EW @MLB

On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first African-American player in @MLB when he stepped onto Ebbets Field to compete for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Today, we celebrate an American hero and civil rights icon whose legacy endures on and off the field. #JackieRobinsonDay

@Ken_Rosenthal It’s really required reading. Reminds me of Frank’s The National but maybe even a better bench.

Now and again I like to tell you about musicians or records I’m excited about. @JasonHawkHarris released his debut record today and it’s really, really great. If you’re a fan of the Isbells and Childers of the world, I think you’ll love it too.

@benthompson It was also a time of a power vacuum where Jony was anointed as the heir to Steve’s product guru role. Makes you wonder if apple understand the dynamic of how it got to great products in the Jobs era.

My @GimmeCountry DJ set begins at 10am today. Head to your App Store, search Gimme Country and download to listen. I’ll be playing classics from Willie, Waylon and others as well as some modern artists cut from the same cloth like Isbell, Price and Sturgill.
