If you want to buy a business & leave your W2 to run it, start by honestly answering some tough questions: Can you: - manage people - deal w/ adversity - be comfortable w/ risk - work well under pressure - learn biz finance/accounting Don’t leave your job w/o all “yes.”
Tip culture is out of control. Before -> appreciation for above-average service Now ->15%+ tax on 90% of retail purchases I’m going to stop tipping: - before services rendered - for routine retail sales - vending machines I WILL tip above average for great service.

When I still worked my W2, Lots of fellow employees talked a big game when it came to entrepreneurship. 95% of them are still employees today. The #1 reason? Failure to execute. #2? Lack of a network to help them w/ #1.
In 2022, I left W2 for solopreneurship. Living in an RV w/ a 2 year-old & newborn. Looking back, it seemed crazy, but it wasn’t. Here’s what I had going for me (in order of importance): • 100% spousal support • Established side-hustle • Twitter/LI • 6 yrs of planning
One of my core beliefs: A W2 job is no place for an entrepreneur. Maybe for awhile to: • Build experience • Support family • Grow But eventually, if you've got DNA of an entrepreneur you need to build for yourself. Am I wrong?
Buying a $5M business with an SBA 7a loan is NOT like buying a $1M. Choosing the wrong lender CAN be disastrous for your deal. An underrated tool is official SBA reports on deal volume. If your lender does less than 50 deals a year... watch out!
