@ren_stocks It was 1 year ago that I started paying attention to the stock market. Last month was my 3rd red month, but each time it happens I learn a little more. Maybe I’ll eventually dable in leverage, but so far I’ve been ok with more modest wins. (45% gain overall)

@KrauthBen @TheLawyerCraig Lol. Is there evidence that variants all spread equally in different climates? There’s so many variables to what causes peaks when/where it seems hard to be certain there’s no correlation. Also, it may be winter in Australia, but is it realty that cold?

@TonyMichael @latimes 73% of the eligible population (12 and over) are vaccinated. The % of the adult (18 and over) population is likely a little higher. I haven’t seen super recent data but it likely a few percentage more maybe 76%?

@glamorousjena @RealPaulMadison @KEYTNC3 @RedIssue About 300 US children have died of Covid. That’s a lot more than 7. Kids dying of either Covid or the vaccine is very unlikely. But getting Covid is the bigger risk.

@TheLawyerCraig Do you have a ballpark on what % of these states are still fully updating daily? I know you’re doing 7 day averages, but with inconsistent reporting, I’m wondering if we should be unsurprised to see a fair amount of wiggling of the numbers just based on that?

@rerutled @djconnel @DrEricDing 0.7% or 2% (depending on metric) are both across all age groups, right? It’s likely the vaccinated group on average is much older than the unvaccinated group. Without age info, it’s hard to tell how good/bad relative deaths are.

@TheLawyerCraig It’s a clearly declining problem. And current death reporting is diluting how strong that decline appears, but I don’t want to overcorrect by overstating the decline by only looking at the current date of deaths.

@TheLawyerCraig Yup. And its likely a notable delta. It just makes me uncomfortable when people claim “it’s over” because today’s deaths occurred in March or whenever. In March people were saying “it’s basically over” because most deaths reported then occurred during our Jan peak.

@TheLawyerCraig It would be interesting! But would looking at the March data now compared to say, March data as of April help predict our current delay? Who knows!! But we can’t be perpetually discounting the people who died months ago just because the count was slow... they still died.

@TheLawyerCraig For sure deaths are down. But per your example, how many CA deaths in the May1-15 range have yet to be added, but we be part of June #s. Maybe in a month or 2 we can look at May 1-15 totals again. 66.3/d artificially high, but 18.5/d may be artificially low?

@RyanKemper10 @chwtom @TheLawyerCraig I think the idea that masks might now be socially acceptable to wear at a doctors office is a small positive to come from this. If it slows the spread of *any* communicable disease it has value, and now people can wear them without being shamed (except for by people like you?)

@RyanKemper10 @chwtom @TheLawyerCraig Before Covid it was culturally acceptable, even the norm, in some countries to wear a mask, especially when sick. I’d say it was super not accepted to do so here -you’d have gotten a lot of negative attention.
