Small details in attached housing make all the difference. We added RC channel, a 1-inch airgap, and double-layer drywall between all townhome units—sound between them is virtually nonexistent.

Great thread and solid logic. That said, if this standard held across the board, almost nothing would get built. Hitting a 12% CoC is extremely tough in core markets — especially on well-located infill or stabilized product.
