Designing a hybrid takehome/onsite engineering interview. The takehome is time-boxed, with clear instructions to not just ai generate a solution. They agree. So far every candidate basically one shots a solution with v0 or claude and submits it with all the ai artifacts included

AI phone calls are becoming indistinguishable. If you’re talking to someone new, you might want to test them. Act like you can't hear and see if they modulate their voice. Or, ask them to clap If it turns out to be a bot, you can set up chatgpt to keep the call going to burn…

It's important to remember that "technology influencers" can be bad role models. Many encourage people to be "fans of technology" instead of actual developers of technology. Hot takes are easy, writing good code is not.

The problem with indie hacking is that it’s a culture of glueing together frameworks and services. If your project fails, what marketable skills have you learned? It’s far more +EV to build a challenging side project that has no intent on ever getting users
