@milnermaths Respect the pacing. You have a limited time to get through the content. Inspecting every little nook and crannie doesn't work in convention games.
@milnermaths 100% take the hook. There is little time for player motivation shenanigans as there is with a regular game. Accept the premise, respect the GM’s and other players time by riding that rail, and enjoy the ride.
@milnermaths Of course come prepared. Dice, pencils, scratch paper, etc. If you have time to brush up on the basics before hand, do so. Anything that can help get to the game faster. There is nothing better than sitting down at a con table and everyone is already familiar with the rules.
@milnermaths +1 for take the hook. Plus try to understand the genre and commit to it.
@milnermaths Only downside is: if you want printed books, they can be a bit hard to get. Current publishing rights are with CMON and it took them quite a while to do a reprint. But if you're fine with PDFs, you can get them on DriveThruRPG.
@milnermaths Probably my favourite system for pulp adventures (especially modern day ones in the spirit of Tomb Raider or Uncharted). Rather light-weight, nice task resolution system (find matching sets in your roll) and really shines if you have a group that's fine to go with the flow.

@milnermaths I've heard favourable rumblings and put it on my wishlist. Household, which is a descendant system-wise, seems pretty good (but I think they're fairly different beyond core resolution).
@milnermaths The art is excellent but I wasn't much impressed with the system. Not saying it was broken or difficult, just not to my taste.
@milnermaths I’ve read it and played it, but not run it. I think it’s perfect for that pulp high adventure game. Indiana Jones, swashbuckling, etc. I think their newest game Outgunned does 80s/90s action movies better, but it can be done in Compass. It deserves your attention.
