I haven't heard anyone say this but "doge" has a complex etymological background. The term originates from the word "dog", meaning 🐕, with an "e" at the end. This is the reason it is pronounced like "dog" - with a "g" - rather than like the unrelated Italian word "doge".

they should make two cuts of movies, one with all the exposition and references and cliffhangers and set-ups for future franchise stuff and one without all that stuff where it actually fits into 90 minutes
