This woman just stole a whole fish tank and accessories Make her Famous Two years ago, owning a shop was my dream. I didn't realize that from that moment on, one of my main jobs would be protecting my shop and my life from people constantly stealing from the store, threatening us, and physically attacking us. This was the third time someone stole from our store this week! We are not the only store that has been robbed in our area. Most of the shops on our street have been targeted, but nobody acts. The police write reports, but for what? Just to waste paper?

The police secured him a place at the local night shelter, but when he arrived, his place had been given to another homeless person 💔 Violently attacked with half his nose missing, in a very vulnerable state with addiction problems, he's back sleeping rough, scared, and wondering if he's going to be attacked again I found him again today in the back of a flat doorway with nothing but a dirty ripped sleeping bag. Again, there was no place available at the night shelter Why is he not a priority? I did all I could with what we had available from previous appeals, he has a new sleeping bag, fresh clothes, an emergency shelter tent, a panic alarm, and he's been fed The other person in the video has taken him in for the night, so we know he's safe, at least for now Why has he not been kept in the hospital? Surely he needs plastic surgery? Why is he not a priority with the emergency housing team? He clearly self-harms has addiction problems and is very vulnerable This is England 2024 The number of people sleeping rough is up 27% on last year 61% higher than it was 10 years ago, and 120% higher than when data collection began in 2010 It's time all the major parties came together and pledged to end homelessness This is not supposed to be a third-world country, but look around you. What do you see? How many more people have to suffer before action is taken? What has our country become😢

15 years ago I was sleeping on a blow-up mattress in the living room of a drug den. I earned my way by peddling pot and selling fake acid to local college kids between "licks" consisting of robbing local dealers. Not even bravely - I'd watch until they left, go in, and take the stash. I got shot at, stabbed, and almost run over - all multiple times. That's the situation I was in when I first met my beautiful wife. That's the room I first brought her home to. I still have no idea what she saw in me. A deep shame settled into me. Something had to give. I got a job dishwashing at a local restaurant and saved up enough that we could rent a place together. At this time, I was still a piece of shit but I had at least traded my hardcore addiction to drugs and crime for a life of lazily gaming. We got married on April Fools day, because neither one of us wanted to take it "too seriously". I had no aspirations and no goals. I started having panic attacks - debilitating ones that left me locked up on the couch and seizing out. Then one day, a miracle happened. She came home and said she might be pregnant. For some reason, this sparked a massive amount of joy in me, despite my situation. We joked, "probably twins". First ultrasound, the nurse says: "And there's heartbeat B." We just look at each other knowingly. The nurse says that's the most non-reaction she's ever gotten out of telling someone they're having twins. The panic attacks disappear. I start looking for work, and looking for videos on how to be a decent father. I come across plenty that help, but then I come across @jordanbpeterson , who, curiously enough, is just saying a bunch of stuff my Dad used to say to me, that I never bothered to listen to. I dive deep into the names he mentions. I dive deep into the psychoanalysts, the novelists, the myths, the ideas. I clean my room, for the first time in a long, long time. I look for work, and I start working. Hard. Roofing, carpentry, laying carpet. We upgrade to a nicer apartment with rooms for the twins, just in time. My life is together. The kids start preschool. I have aspirations now. I want them to have a father they can be proud of. With them in school, I start school myself. Holy fuck, I'm good at it. Maintaining a 4.0 and it doesn't even feel like I'm trying. I see friends in the same situation I was once in. I coach them with what I learned on my journey. It works for them, too. *CLICK* There's an idea. I become a coach. I have some local success. I plan to become a counselor. I create an X account and start sharing wisdom, with the long-term aim of eventually coaching and counseling online. And here we are. Just wait.
