Excuse the language but….Holy Fucking Shit….I realise not everyone is into Tennis but Novak Djokovic has to be in the conversation for one of the greatest sportsmen of all time across all sports. He has just played for 5 hrs 15 minutes straight in horrible, humid, draining heat in London (I’m here and it’s bloody horrible)…..and he won…again. Against the number 3 ranked player. Novak is 39 yrs old. Messi is 38 and everyone is lauding him as a god for his performances in the World Cup. To put it into perspective Djokovic just played three and a half entire football matches on the spin in that heat. It’s insane, it should be impossible, but for him it’s not. And bear in mind not only the greatest ever on the court but a full blown legend off it. He did not buckle to the Covid and vaccine bullies, he stood his ground, defended his morals and refused to buckle. He defends his faith, loves his family and has never had a moments scandal. A genuinely perfect example of what a sportsman…and a man should be👏👏👏 @DjokerNole #tennis #wimbledon #goatDebate #goat

⛳🎾 Jannik Sinner on his golf progress: “I improved a little… also because I couldn’t do worse 😅 My dad and I play together sometimes, and now we’re almost on the same level — so he laughs less than before!” 🇮🇹🦊❤️

I totally agree with Djokovic. The world tour finals is the toughest tournament to win in tennis. No easy draws and the bo3 format on fast hard courts significantly levels the field. Grand slams are the most physical but the year end championship tests your overall tennis skills the most

Rafa Nadal says Carlos Alcaraz can sometimes play at a level that Jannik Sinner cannot, but he can also make more mistakes, ‘Carlos is more magic... he’s more unpredictable’ On Sinner: “He puts a rhythm on the forehand that is very difficult to follow. He’s very quick on picking the ball early and he’s quick on the transition from defending to attacking.” On Alcaraz: “Carlos is more magic, he’s more unpredictable, he can play at a level that probably sometimes Jannik cannot.” “But at the same time, he’s making more mistakes, too — he can play better, but he can play worse, and it’s about finding the balance. Carlos has all the shots, sometimes he’s making mistakes, but he’s going for the shots and it’s more amazing to see because at the end it’s more unexpected and unpredictable. I like it, it’s very funny to see Carlos play because he’s able to produce amazing things and at the same time, he’s able to have mistakes, and that’s human.” “From my point of view, Carlos can improve a little bit the tactical way to approach some matches. Sometimes it feels like he always plays for every big shot, and sometimes, he doesn’t need that much.” Source: nytimes.com/athletic/65981…
