This is the summary of the second day of cross-examination of the first alleged victim in Russell Brand’s rape and sexual assault trial. Russell Brand’s lawyer, questioned the woman about her movements at the 1999 Labour Party conference in Bournemouth, photographs she took during the trip, her conversations with Brand, and her account of the alleged rape. He showed her five photographs from the conference, including pictures of her with actor Richard Wilson and then-prime minister Tony Blair. She recalled seeing other famous faces, including George Michael, Boy George and MP Mo Mowlam. He wanted to focus on the timeline of events and what she had been wearing on different days. Russell Brand’s lawyer questioned whether she was wearing a fitted red top or a black top on the night of the alleged rape. She said she could not remember the precise order of events, explaining that even if she were asked to recall the order of things she had done that morning, she would probably get it wrong. The photographs were relevant because they wanted to examine whether her recollection of the clothing she wore on the night matched what she had previously told police. Brand’s lawyer also questioned her about how she first met Brand at a fringe show during the conference. She confirmed that she initially welcomed his company, describing him as an interesting and intellectual person His lawyer suggested to the alleged victim that she had welcomed the company of a young, frankly flirty man, she challenged his description of Brand as “flirty”, saying he was more “silly”. She said their conversation continued for hours. He also raised the fact that Brand had found her again at the venue after the show. She confirmed that they continued their earlier conversation. The cross-examination then turned to what happened in the hotel room. The woman said that when she returned from the toilet, Brand had removed his top and was wearing only his “stupid budgie-smugglers”. She described his behaviour as weird and intimidating when she was alone with him. Russell Brand’s lawyer challenged her over why she had not locked herself in the bathroom or simply fled. She replied: “Of course I wanted to distance myself, but I had nowhere to run.” She explained that Brand was a big man and she did not think she could outrun him or get away. She also pointed out that she had taken a self-defence course, but said it had done her no good. When his lawyer suggested Brand could not chase her down the street wearing only his underpants, she repeated that there was nowhere to run, adding: “That’s not how my mind works.” The woman became emotional and cried as she described blaming herself for inviting Brand back to her hotel room. She stressed that the room was her office and workspace. She also reiterated that he was not her type and that she had thought he was gay. The judge offered her a break because she was distressed, but she declined, saying: “It’s not going to get any better, is it?” Brand’s lawyer then questioned her directly about whether she had verbally refused his advances. She said: “I did say no, I did say no.” When his lawyer suggested she had told police she might not have verbalised her refusal, she responded: “I believe I did say no.” Then the judge intervened to point out that she had told police during her recorded interview that she had said no several times. The woman also argued that Brand’s own words showed that she had communicated her refusal, recalling him telling her “to enjoy it”. Russell Brand’s lawyer offered a different explanation, suggesting Brand had asked whether she was enjoying it and that she had not said no in response. She stated explicitly: "I did say no, I didn’t want his dirty penis inside me. I value my body."..."He did rape me,"

A female child is present, wearing lingerie and holding what appears to be a championship belt. The filing says the child kisses him on the neck and remains in close physical contact with him. An adult woman then joins them on the bed and has intimate physical contact with Tate. The filing says the woman subsequently interacts with the child while Tate remains present, concluding that the child is presented in a sexualised context. The filing also shows Tate bragging on WhatsApp about selling videos of the child. Other WhatsApp messages recovered between Tate and the child show that he knew she was underage.

The Glazers have killed Manchester United Football Club. INEOS, regardless of whether they can or cannot help, haven't helped. I simply can't see us being successful as long as the Glazers continue as owners of the club. They have no interest in the club except giving the club their debts and taking the club's money for themselves. They wanted to use the club to earn more money from the beginning — it's simply who they are as people. They've done it for 20 years. INEOS won't change that. This is the reality of the situation. Protests haven't helped. Slogans haven't helped. Chanting hasn't helped. They don't care. When people in authority allow uprising, it's often because they know it won't change anything. People will go back to their lives after a week and things return to normal. It's a very old story repeated throughout history. This is the reality of Manchester United today. Each Dream in the Theatre is but a fleeting wish. It is what it is. Regrettably.

This is an appalling way to communicate to fans, it’s dripping with contempt and reads more of a threat than anything else. There are a million ways to say this with a modicum of basic respect which Utd fans are owed by the club. Sadly it portrays the clubs attitude to the fans who bought the football club for the current owners and shows how little they care about how they communicate with the fans. They’d never talk to a sponsor like this.
