@RealRockatansky @daveweigel Tried to shorten my tweet, so I’ll clarify. The constant boasting about AI content is still feels like the meme of the guy at the party believing they don’t know about XX while everyone probably know but don’t care and just enjoying the party.
@RealRockatansky @daveweigel I’m curious what this dude’s burn rate in tokens vs. a subscription is, (if this guy is even real or just shilling for a startup). Putting aside the creatives thing, I assume there’s an audience for content like this, but current trend is still witnessing the event in-person.
@TylerDinucci I gather he’s way too online because a lot of this sounds similar to some of the red-pill stuff.
@conorsen A lot of the hesitation was due to 2016 and shock at how impactful early adopters were to the disruption of traditional media and not capitalizing on it. There’s still D’s, (in office and voters) that are leery but more (voters) are being honest with themself about where we are
@CartoonsHateHer I worry this debate gets into more gatekeepy-esque territory though. I think we’ve all known someone we’ve perceived to have “failed up”. I don’t take it negatively because everyone deserves an opportunity even when they’re not the brightest.
@CartoonsHateHer @DrewSav I remember seeing her special previewed when it came out and immediately thought, all of this is kinda cringe.
I think we’ve lost the plot over what government can and can’t do. Everyone’s wants big government to work for them at a personal level and there just no mechanism enforce stuff like this.
An unhinged boomer breaks down and cries and screams that her “petty” daughter cut her off and won’t let her see her grandson. She wants Byron Donalds to make a law forcing her daughter to let her see her grandson. Maybe look in a mirror first, lady. And turn off Fox News.
@DanFriedman81 @daveweigel I had a similar take at first when I first started it but when she goes into comparing each cruise line and the socioeconomic aspects each cruise has or who is going on them is where I found it interesting. Long story short she does enjoy herself on two of them.
@schLEEpington @deray But two things can be true at the same time. Yes there’s negligence of parents and systemic issues, but you’re also willfully denying the thought of a kid can just be cruel or do harmful things to their own detriment regardless.
@_rotimia Sadly I felt this would only delay the inevitable. The previous FCC should’ve just worked with Shari Redstones to find a neutral bidder. Now, most oligarchs will just wait for the each R president to get what they want.
@maxwelltani Isn’t it kind of a cyclical problem then? Can’t expect to run dem bros like that if it doesn’t connect with the current democratic electorate? Some of the dude’s example of what guys like aren’t the best but I understand what he’s trying to say.
The point isn’t that being fit makes you a fascist, the point is to show common interests to gain attention and be able to hold space for left-leaning people so it’s not just assumed to a be right-wing interest.
One of the reasons the manosphere was able to capture the attention of a lot of kids is they saw an insecurity that they were able to exploit and tag themselves in topics or interests to get more views even if they have nothing of value to add….
Was on vacation during the livestream but my thoughts: D/Left identifying figures facing headwinds from the creator-driven economy, too focused on winning the debate and less on how to get attention. Also missing the point of WHY people want to get fit and…
🚨 “The More Dysgenic, the Better”: Beatrice Adler-Bolton Says the Left Must Give Up the “Fantasy of Being Fitter Than the Fascists” At Socialism 2026, Adler-Bolton argues that “fitness is a measure of relative disposability under capitalism” and says the goal should not be to
@thestustustudio You’re the first person I’ve seen to reference this scene, it’s such a great scene and show that was overlooked.
I truly struggle to understand the mind of someone who can say something like "GLP-1 drugs are genocidal fascism" with a straight face. What is their experience like? What goes through their head? I feel like I could understand uncontacted Amazonian tribes easier than this.
🚨 Da’Shaun L. Harrison at Socialism 2026 argues that the political deployment of GLP-1 drugs is “fascistic” because they exist in “a world fixated on genociding fat people.” “The political deployment of GLP-1s is fascistic, not because individuals take them, but because the
@CartoonsHateHer @politicalmath It’s expectation vs. reality that many young adults of different SES are witnessing. I remember my peers post-college saying they would move abroad and work, not realizing they’d basically be taking a pay cut or find a job consisted of traveling when that’s only for higher ups.
@st_louis_stan @thejoypowers @uckema You’re purposefully ignoring the reason, it’s their earned money, and just like the money you earned, no one can tell them or you what to do with it. The goal of contributing to the household means having to trust each other to keep the household together.
@ssulyne Couldn’t you say the things millennials did were also performative? As a millennial, I think we overlooked who benefited the most from the dismantling and disregarded how lopsided our view of social change was for everyone.
@_rotimia One thing they could also do is repurpose older industrial buildings. I saw another post on here talking about one of Chicago’s old factory building on the south side I used to live by thats been vacant for decades.
