Creativity: Internal serendipity Not all luck is external. Sometimes, luck is an idea that hits you in the shower. A mental connection you didn’t plan for. A flash of insight that changes everything. You can’t force those moments, but you can increase the odds: - Input: Read widely and intentionally. Feed your brain the good stuff, not just hot takes and junk tweets. - Digestion: Stop filling every gap with noise. Leave space. Take walks. Stare out the window. - Processing: Write. Take notes. Externalize your thoughts so you can play with them. - Skill: Idea generation is a muscle. The more bad ideas you write down, the better the good ones get. Greenfeld compares this to gardening. If you flood the soil with seeds and never tend it, nothing grows. You need quality seeds, space, time, and daily care.
