Having kids IS hard, and different for everyone. Some people miss money, or sleep, some miss going out at night, some have postpartum health problems. It's the benefits that outweigh all the difficulties.

I got one of those ear cameras and it's the worst result: I can see all the way in, practically see daylight out the other side, and it's apparent my ears aren't blocked my hearing is just bad.

I wish Amazon's recommendations were good. Sometimes I just want to browse and shop. Right now, because I bought someone some 50th-birthday themed stuff last week, the algorithm thinks I'm obsessed with birthdays and the year 1975.

My first impression of GPT-5 wasn't good. I asked about rules of a game and it got clockwise and anticlockwise mixed up, started contradicting itself. It's quite cool it was able to 'think for longer' and sort itself out once challenged, but it's not the leap forward we expected.

Driving a Chinese hire car which watches me and tuts at yawns, and watches the road, woefully misinterpreting confusing Italian speed signs. Things with AI are going to get weird - if there's no fast takeoff, we're getting dodgy half-working AI features everywhere.

Disaster: the Magsafe cable stopped working so I charged my laptop with a USB charger. Within an evening I'd tripped on the cable, wrecking the cable and dragging the laptop down on my foot. Magsafe really is a good idea.

Scared my kids breaking heavily when the car ahead suddenly slowed. Accident averted but I was feeling pretty bad about not reacting more smoothly. Then, driving onwards, realised that the git had no brake lights whatsoever! Completely not working.
